Matching Gifts Offered for Kitchen Project at Joe Hartman School

Joe Hartman School student, kitchen project, la romana, DR

Any donations toward a kitchen project at the Joe Hartman School in La Romana, Dominican Republic, will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $5,000 in total. This $5,000 match is provided through the outreach efforts of the First Baptist Church of Walingford, CT.

The plan is to build a working kitchen at the Joe Hartman School in order to provide food for the students to eat each day, as well as be used for lessons utilizing math, science, and cooking skills. Numerous studies show that poor nutrition has a direct effect on a young student's ability to learn.
