“For I know the plans I have for you; plans to give you hope and a future”– Jeremiah 29:11
Pastor Elza Phanord and her late husband, Rev. Jean Luc Phanord, had a vision: build a school for the children of the barrio known as Kilometer 6 in La Romana, Dominican Republic, to give hundreds of children the blessing of an education. Kilometer 6 is one of the largest and poorest barrios in all of the Dominican Republic. The Joe Hartman School sits in the middle of Kilometer 6 as a beacon of hope . . . studentes at the school receive an excellent education and tChristian values. With much volunteer work, donations, and prayer, the Joe Hartman School serves over 200 hundred pre-K through 6th grade students each school year.
