The Dominican Republic Mission Team lost a legend this past week with the passing of Alice Darius Fekete (see her full obituary here).
She was part of the original DR Mission Team in 1990, and continued serving in La Romana for the next 35 years. In fact, Alice went on her final mission trip to the DR just last year at 89 years old, the oldest missionary to ever serve as a volunteer.
During that mission trip in January of 2024, Alice was honored by El Buen Samaritano Hospital and Maranatha Mission for her decades of love and dedication. The final line of the crystal award presented to her by CEO Moises Sifren, reads, "Thank you for being part of our history, and thank you for being a 'Great Samaritan'".
Gifts in Alice's memory can be made to the Dominican Republic Mission Team and will support the social programs at El Buen Samaritano Hospital.
