It is truly a blessing and a privilege to be part of this mission. God has blessed me beyond words through the people I’ve met, the friendships we’ve formed, and the opportunity to serve.
On our most recent trip, I witnessed what I can only describe as a miracle. While delivering food, we met François, a 65 year old man who was desperately ill following a heart attack. Our team recognized how serious his condition was and helped get him to our Good Samaritan Hospital, where doctors discovered he was in heart and kidney failure and likely would not have survived another 24 hours.
A few days later, I visited François in the ICU. Across our language barrier, we laughed, talked, and prayed together. I left believing we might have shared one of his final evenings before God called him home.
But God had a different plan.
Days later, François had made a remarkable recovery and was well enough to return home to his family. God, along with wonderful doctors and a good IV drip, works miracles!
I come to the Dominican Republic hoping to serve others, but I always leave having received so much more than I could ever give. Thank you, God, for this mission, these friendships, and the incredible privilege of serving Your people.
