Thanks to the generosity of so many, the Week 1 Summer '26 DR Mission Team trip piloted ultrasound technology during clinicis in the bateyes and barrios. This proved to be an invaluable tool for our clinicians to use in their decision making, diagnosing, and the quality of care we are able to provide in our mobile medical clinics. The DR Mission Team will be able to use this technology for years to come, and it will greatly benefit those we serve who otherwise do not have access to healthcare.

During the Summer '26 Week 1 trip, the ultrasound technology was used to confirm several diagnoses such as kidney stones, heart failure, and fibroids. Patients were able to be shown their scans and were provided an explanation of the image and diagnoses. Clinicians were able to have confidence in their clinical decision making and provide added peace of mind to the patients. Providers were also able to rule out diagnoses through the use of the ultrasound.
